It comfortably holds my Rebel T3 and a zoom lens with room for a charger, batteries, accessories, and small personal items like my cell phone and keys. It's exactly what I wanted for an everyday camera bag. It has a padded insert that attaches with velcro to the back and bottom to keep it in place. The bag zips around the top inside of the flap, so the internal compartment is completely enclosed with water resistant canvas. I wouldn't want to risk dropping the bag in a lake, but I would feel safe getting caught out in the rain with it.Also, I really love the look of this bag. Some were bought when I wanted to carry my entire kit, to this one, bought recently, which can accommodate what I really need - a camera with a general purpose lens, a specialty lens, a flash, and the other bits that one carts around. As well, while traveling, I always take a couple sachets of headache pills, a few band-aids, antiseptic cream etc. You never know.The first thing for me was to reduce its weight. So I removed the heavy metal rigs that seemed to serve no functional purpose, by cutting off the fabric where the rings were sewn to the bag. The second thing was to make the closure easier. Pushing and pulling the snaps was tedious.
